Coaching

I work with all sorts of folks in the tech industry, but I especially love coaching technical leaders and those carving their own paths: senior engineers, staff+ engineers, and architects. I am also approached by managers and senior leaders in high pressure environments who are looking for a thinking partner to help them increase their influence (instead of relying on authority) or for a space to reflect more deeply, take a moment for themselves and explore new perspectives.

I'm open to working with people outside these roles or in different industries. If you feel we’d make a great team or my approach resonates with you, let’s chat.

The type of coaching I do is called transformational coaching because it focuses on your uniqueness as a person. We focus on who you desire to become, versus helping you come up with solutions to a specific problem or putting together a CV. Transformational coaching goes deeper and enables lasting sustainable change.

I have experienced some of these challenges in myself and I realised this style of coaching aligns very well with the technical leadership journey: you have the technical experience, we focus together on updating your "internal operating system" to help you become the leader you desire to be. Not a copy and paste of someone else, but yourself. This is what transformation means. Challenges like influencing, amplifying your impact, communication, etc are more related to our being and our relationship with ourselves.

We'll have one-on-one sessions tailored to your specific goals and challenges: whether it's preparing for that promotion, scaling your influence, or navigating complex technical leadership scenarios.

What topics lead people to consider coaching?

  • Finding clarity in a new role, or after an internal change (like a reorg or manager change).
  • They have been trying to get buy-in to an important initiative, but struggling to gain traction. They crave a space for reflection and exploration.
  • Feel stuck or lost in a role, a company or their careers.
  • Have a very challenging relationship (most frequently with their manager) and have run out of ideas for how to improve it.
  • Have lost the enjoyment of work, every project and interaction feels the same. They want to ignite that spark again.
  • They are several decades into their career and eyeing the exit, but would like to contribute more meaningfully.
  • They are looking for a new role (as a result of layoffs, being driven out or other circumstances), interviews are frustrating or they don't know exactly what role they'd like to go for next.
  • They have received feedback and it's not making sense even after discussing with their manager. They don't feel seen.

What do they get out of working together?

  • Clarity: leads to better decision making, improved communication and relationships. Things that would take ages now feel much easier, their capacity for concentrating and seeing the big picture has increased.
  • Self-awareness: supports them in being more intentional about using their strengths and enjoying more their work. This helps when knowing what initiatives or projects are the ones to go for.
  • Understanding their why: and what they offer leads to stretch projects, increased visibility, promotions and new roles.
  • Better alignment: when they feel connected with themselves, everything else aligns... with their colleagues, manager and organisational's goals.
  • As well as career benefits, clients share a positive impact in their personal lives and relationships ✨

You might not be ready for coaching with me if...

  • You are not willing to step into the uncomfortable
  • You are looking for a quick solution or to come out with a detailed plan
  • You don't want to be challenged
  • You are not serious about doing the work

Coaching is extremely rewarding. Our conversations are a private and safe space for you to express yourself, and I will support you all the way. But I don't want to sugar coat it. The process is not an easy one. Change is hard... yet exhilarating when you start to notice things shifting.
