"She enables me to see the situation from a broader perspective and helps me feel more confident in my decisions after each session."
✓ Found a more suitable role aligned with her values
I reached out to Blanca for assistance with my job search and interview struggles. She helped me to identify the elements which were not working, and especially where I had tried to correct something in myself, which was not the core problem after all. She was especially helpful to speak to while considering an offer I wasn't that excited about, as she helped me navigate not only what was bothering me but also helped me identify where I was attempting to self-advocate while battling against feeling "grateful" for the offer. It made a huge difference to have someone reflect on these situations with me and it ultimately guided me to a much more suitable role in the end. She enables me to see the situation from a broader perspective, helps me articulate concerns better, and hence I feel more confident in my decisions after each session. I continue to work with Blanca on my future goals and look forward to every session.

"I no longer measure my career by the next step up. I'm settled on what I actually want from the rest of my career in a way I wasn't before."
✓ Gained clarity on long-term career direction and values
I came to Blanca for two reasons. I was weighing up a potential step up in my career and wasn't sure I wanted it, and underneath that I had a less articulated sense that I needed to work out what I actually wanted from the rest of my career. Six months on, I have clearer answers to both. Blanca didn't try to help me solve the career question directly. She helped me notice the assumptions underneath it. In one session I described how progression had always meant moving upwards for me. We spent a long time on that, and she introduced Simon Sinek's Infinite Game as a lens. It was a revelation. Staying relevant isn't about the next title. It's about being willing to keep learning and evolving so you stay in the game. I no longer measure my career by the next step up, and I'm settled on the question I came in with in a way I wasn't before.

"A career coach is someone who helps you see yourself so you can discover what your inner self already knows you should do."
✓ Learned to pause, reflect, and access his inner wisdom

If I had to explain a career coach to my former self, the version of me who had no idea what a career coach was, I'd probably say this:

A career coach is someone who helps you see yourself. Your strengths, your weaknesses, your blind spots. They're almost like a HUMAN MIRROR. It's not so much about giving you advice. It's more about helping you discover what your inner self already knows you should do.

One question my coach asks at the end of every session is: "What has this session made you learn about yourself?" And even though I know the question is coming, it still catches me off guard every single time.

Most of the session, my mind is focused on whatever topic we're discussing. Then suddenly, that question appears. I'm then forced to pause, reflect and look inward. It's been one of the most interesting experiences I've had.

And my coach is genuinely one of the most amazing humans I've encountered in my lifetime. Having a coach like Blanca Garcia Gil has been GREAT. It's been SUPER amazing.
