About Blanca

I am a principal engineer, transformational coach and a founder.

I moved on from the corporate world to build my own business. I work supporting engineering teams and organisations improving how they collaborate, work and learn.

I do this by:

1. Bringing case studies for people to work together, putting in practice the skills and strategies we learn in the workshops. We can acquire knowledge in books, podcasts, online talks, conferences, etc; but it isn't until we put it in practice that we know we've truly learned it.
2. Using transformational coaching in 1:1 conversations to help staff+ engineers and technical leaders develop their own unique flavour of leadership.

Before this, I  spent almost 20 years working for different organisations in a variety of tech roles before making the transition to working with data. I have spent the last 9 years building data analytics platforms, first at the BBC and then at the fintech startup topi.

Some of the most rewarding areas of my role as principal engineer involved setting up teams to work on specific problems, mentoring, coaching, public speaking and delivering workshops for engineering teams.

For a long time I've believed that traditional learning paths are not the best way to learn. They focus mostly on acquiring knowledge. But our work is creative, it is about generating new ideas and questioning. I have also been seeing how our industry's continued focus on the new and shiny tools causes us keep our attention on the tech, rather than on how to improve collaboration and working with others. I want to change this, make the tech industry more human and inclusive. I believe this can transform the way we work. It can transform us and the products we create.
